Complete Control in All Areas
What Is Access Control?
An access control system can be used to regulate the access which people have to various parts of a commercial or – in a few cases – domestic property. In simple terms, the system will be used to make sure that only people with permission are able to enter certain parts of a building. Reasons for the use of access control may include to keep children out of a certain parts of a house that they are not allowed in because it may be too dangerous for them.
The control itself can be provided using features such a biometric control via fingerprints, a swipe card, a fob or facial recognition.
The fact that access control systems are bespoke solutions for individual clients means that the cost of each system will vary depending upon the features needed. This can cover everything from a large hotel which needs to control access to every one of its rooms, to a person looking for an intercom to be fitted to the gate at their end of their drive.

An access control system can be placed at the gates or doors on the main entry to a building or within internal areas, and clients often require a combination of both. In many systems the access control will feature an intercom enabling the user to establish the identity of any visitors.
Any access control system allows the user to control the movement of people around a specific set of premises. This could mean allowing guests in and out of rooms, checking people as they arrive and leave, or making certain parts of the premises out of bounds. A business which deals with large amounts of client data, for example, may wish to restrict access to that data to members of staff with the correct security clearance. An access control system makes this easy to do. In addition to this, an access control system which records when members of staff arrive at and leave a workplace can be used to compile accurate and detailed time sheets.
